A lot of people would like to start growing their own vegetables but often think that it is difficult and time consuming. Although you may need to spend a day or so preparing the ground for your seeds but once you have everything planted the day to day maintenance is fairly minimal. You also don’t need a lot of space to be able to grow your own vegetables. Applying for a local council allotment could be one solution and there are a number of space saving raised garden beds available on the market to fit into the smallest of gardens. The great thing about growing your own vegetables is that there are a wide range of benefits to doing it and below are some of the best reasons to start doing it.

1. Reduce Your Supermarket Bill – One thing that is obvious is that by planting vegetables you will save money on your food shopping. When you buy a packet of salad or a bag of carrots you tend to buy more than you need. You will often find yourself throwing away veg that has gone off but with your own veg you will end up just using what you will need avoiding wasteful spending.

2. To Keep Healthy – Eating five portions of fruit and vegetables every day is a great way to get everything you need to keep yourself healthy. You will often find that people who grow their own vegetables will tend to eat more of them, more often. Not only this but spending time in the garden preparing the soil and maintaining everything you are growing is good exercise.

3. You Know What Has Been Put On Them – You never really know what chemicals or pesticides may have been used on the plants or the soil your vegetables are growing in. These sorts of pesticides are often harmless to us and protect crops from disease and pests but many people don’t like the idea of them being used. When you are growing your own vegetables you can control exactly what is being put on to the crops and in the soil.

4. For The Taste – You can’t beat the taste of fresh, organically grown vegetables. Vegetables bought from a shop have often been transported over long distances before they even make it in to a shop. This means that you rarely get to taste them when they are truly fresh and a lot of the flavour is lost.

5. To Encourage Your Children To Eat More Healthy – Getting children to eat their greens can be a nightmare sometimes. By showing your children how you go about growing fruit and vegetables in your garden will give them more of an interest when it comes to gardening and to trying new foods. This is a great way to help promote healthy eating in your children from a young age.

If you are wondering as to how to go about eating healthy food then you should relax. Eating sensible food doesn’t need to be a pain and it can be relatively very simple too.

Everyone wants to live for longer and be around for their families and pals, well if you are not healthy then there’s not a superb chance you will make it to see your mates and family grow old with you. So many people will pass on a salad and go straight towards an oily burger without realizing they’re seriously injuring their fitness? Eating a salad before the primary course will have two great effects for you. One it will put those vitamins and minerals in you and your body will regard it highly. And 2nd it’ll fill you up some of the way stopping you from gorging yourself on the oily foods. It’s actually nice to have what my private coach called a BAS ( big Axx Salad ) with each meal, especially dinner. Dinner should be the lightest of all of the day;s meals, but we actually pile it on at dinner time. The reason behind how to go about eating healthy food is that we do not plan out our day in the correct way. And if you are one that doesn’t eat much in the day, then you’re just simply depriving your body of needed food.

Meal planning. That’s’s basically what you need to do. If you aren’t scheduling what to eat, you will change from eating healthy and get right into break mode. It’s vital to maintain a sensible diet each day, twenty four seven, as each calorie counts. The target is to plan out your meals so breakfast and lunch give you 50 five % of your daily nourishment, and with luck, with sensible food.
